ABOUT US

Kirk Encinas

Owner/ Sales Manager

Kirk worked for Los Angeles Unified School District for 30 Years in Facilities and decided he needed a new career. Actually he wanted to help out his son Jake and Eric with all the Admin duties so that that they could focus on the projects at hand. Kirk had seen his son Jake’s passion for Hot Rods and metal fabrication at the young age of 12 when they restored their 1956 Chevy Belair that had been in the family. When Jake Completed Wyotech and was working for Dan Fink Metalworks, his boss John West wanted to lighten his load and sell the Grille Business. In 2010 we purchased Dan Fink Grilles and later on Jake and Eric followed their dream and opened doors as Pinhead Fabrication. They have been very blessed and fortunate over the years as the business continues to grow.

Jake Encinas

Owner/ Fabricator

It all began for Jake at a young age. When he was 13 a project started that changed everything. His grandfather gave him and his dad a 1956 Chevy Belair that turned into a passion and love. Over the time of four years the project had given Jake a vision and a passion to pursue a goal of one day owning his own hot rod restoration shop. Taking every automotive class possible in high school and working after school at various shops such as California Performance Transmission  ( Home of drag racer Artt Carr), and Lanzini Body Works, he thrived to learn it all. A opportunity came along to be a guest builder on TLC’s “Overhaulin” and was able to experience the art of turning one’s dream into a reality, and was asked to return for another two episodes. After Completing High school he attended Wyotech in Sacremento where he learned basic Automotive, High Performane Engines, and Chassis Fabrication.

A week after returning from Wyotech he was offered a job at Dan Fink Metalworks  and worked there for four years fabricating, and learning the art of grille fabrication from David Schuck, who had been building grilles for 25 years. During that time working at Dan Fink’s, Jake and his father Kirk were given the opportunity to purchase Dan Fink Grilles. Shortly after the purchase of the grille business Jake decided to venture off of being an employee and make his dream of owning is own Shop a reality. In November of 2011 Jake and his partner Eric Ledesma had opened the doors up as Pinhead Fabrication.

Eric was born and raised in Tucson, AZ where his passion for cars started. Growing up his love for cars stemmed from idolizing his father who was always tinkering on cars, motorcycles, and anything that needed to be fixed. After high school he attended Wyotech where he first met Jake and realized they shared a similar passion for hot rods. After graduating Eric decided to leave Arizona to move to so cal to pursue his dream of having a career in the hot rod industry. Moving Jake and his family helped him land a job at Custom Rod Garage and California Street Rods where he gained a vast amount of knowledge from leading professionals Mark Oja and Chuck Lambardo Jr. In 2011 Jake and Kirk Encinas approached Eric with the idea of opening up there own shop. By Nov the doors were open and thanks to good quality work and a great word of mouth growing customer base, they never looked back.
